Rural location, therefore car essential North
Yorkshire - a little about the county. North
Yorkshire is the largest county in England, and arguably the
most beautiful. The "County Town" of North Yorkshire is the
famous old City of York, noted for its outstanding city
walls, its historic Minster, and, amongst many other good
reasons to be famous, York is the birthplace of a certain
gunpowder plotter, one Guy Fawkes, who first graced the City
in the year 1570. His part in the attempt to blow up the
Houses of Parliament was to light the fuse. Alas, he was
caught red-handed, resulting in his execution at the tender
age of 36. We confess to nor being quite so sure why his has
become such a hallowed memory each November, but less of
that guy, and more about the places of interest that are so
easily found.......... The Pennine
Mountains to the West, the North York Moors to the Centre
and the East, featuring its well known Railway, lovely East
Coast holiday resorts, ancient sites in every corner of the
county, stunning views (try Sutton Bank, only a few miles
away) the White Horse of Kilburn, the famous Spa Town of
Harrogate, 9 race courses, golf courses a-plenty, England's
smallest City, Ripon, market towns a-plenty, all clean,
colourful, and very well worth a visit. To summarize,
why not visit our splendid county, of which we are
justifiably proud, and stay with us at our strategically
placed superbly equipped property, from where you can visit so very
many places of historic interest, and see for yourself that
what we say about the county is very true? You won't
regret it!
